Two Hours, Later Tonight…
Thanks to Promo for pointing out earlier today that tonight’s Amazing Race is 2 hours long. 8pm – 10pm, CST. I will be blogging my commentary in near real time in one very long post. Yeah! Something to look forward to!

Race On!
Ah… time to settle in and watch The Amazing Race on the Tivo! Here we go with my ongoing commentary on the show. I’ll do the usual – write, post. Write some more, post. So it will take me 40 minutes to finish the entry, more or less. I decided to post this as a “more” entry so that I won’t spoil the results for anyone who hasn’t seen it yet. The final results are at the bottom, so don’t read it if you don’t want to know!
While I did watch The Amazing Race last night – I was still sleepy and in a haze, so I don’t remember it as clearly as I would like. I saved it on the Tivo and I am going to watch it again tomorrow night, just so I can really “take it all in” and then I’ll blog all about it. There were a lot of things happening in that episode! I was super sad to see what team was eliminated, I’m happy to see my second favorite team in first place. Blake & Paige bug me. I don’t like their attitude. I still think Gary & Dave are a bit goofy, and they sometimes seem like they were picked to be the next Kevin & Drew. (They are funny, but it’s just not the same with out Team Guido (Team Guido Sucks!) and Kevin & Drew.) Actually, I have to say that I am really enjoying this season. They seem to have made a few tweaks to the format and I think it worked out really well. So more Amazing Race blogging tomorrow night!

Putting Survivor back to back with the Amazing Race really made me realize how much better a show Amazing Race is. The artificial Lord of the Flies atmosphere of Survivor seems even more so when compared to Amazing Race. Someone is always getting the one cabbie in the country who refuses to exceed the speed limit, or the bus with the flat tire. Those are real challenges, not the Fear Factor type “eat the smelly, nasty fish” crap that survivor loves to pull. However I am waiting for someone to get shot in an airport for running around screaming like a lunatic, but that would be a different type of show entirely.
I completely agree! I love watching The Amazing Race! Of all of the reality type shows, it is the only one I have even been able to really get into, and it is *so* good! [via Daypop]
