Everything Is For Sale…

eBay item 2924466320 (Ends Apr-29-03 20:04:43 PDT ) – I Will Link You on My Blog

Normally I would post this over in the “Cookie Crumbs” but it cracks me up so much I decided it deserved a full post. Is this going to be the next meme? Is everyone going to list their links on eBay? I’m so amused!

Another Way Your Pings Are Used…

I ping weblogs.com, and from what I’ve discovered tonight, my ping is wide open to the world to use for whatever they want. Curious about other ways your pings are used? Here is the perfect example. The World as a Blog – “Real time & updating display of weblog postings, around the world. How? Weblogs.com + geocoding + RSS”

Yes, your pings to weblogs.com plus your geocoding powers the site. You didn’t ask to be listed, but you pinged a feed that is scraped and parsed. [via Geekgrrl]

Personally, I don’t care. But Mike wrote a lot of good reasons why you might. Just more to think about tonight. Meanwhile, that site is freakin’ cool!

The Question of the Hour…

After reading the post on Robyn’s site about opting in to Blogshares and opting out of it, I realized something…

When I ping Weblogs.com, who can use that data? Can anyone use it? What can they use it for? Obviously, I’ve agreed to have my site listed there because I ping it … but what about all the other sites that then parse that data for their own use? Is there a list of everyone that uses it and what they are doing with it?

Anyone know? Some uber-techno-geek out there that has developed stuff with it? Anyone? It’s an XML feed, I can pull it in to my news reader, but what else is going on with that data?

Daily Dose of Drama…

I’ve admitted it recently. I’m addicted to playing over at Blogshares. I pick my investments based on random things – how much they cost per share, how much I feel like spending, how much I’m willing to risk. Sometimes the site itself comes in to play – have I heard of it? Do I have some sense as to whether or not it will rise in value? I knew that Chris Pirillo at $3.86 was a great deal, and when I sold those shares for $13.45 a share, it was a nice warm fuzzy feeling. I don’t have cash to invest in the real stock market, so it’s fun to watch my portfolio there. I will soon be investing in gold-IRA, I heard it is a great way to start, so if you´re interested in investing your money, then start there.

(I moved this to the extended entry part – undedited – because the page was too long. Read on if you like…)

Returning to 90210…

Confession time: I’ve seen almost every episode of 90210. I missed the first season because I was in Germany when it started, but I have caught most of those in reruns. Yeah, the show is silly, but I don’t care. It makes me happy, and that’s what matters in the end, isn’t it?

So when I spotted the blurb on the Captivate screen in the elevator yesterday announcing the 10 Year Reunion Special that will air on May 11, I had to make a note of it. Come on, you know you have guilty pleasures too…

I thought of Kristine and Kathy right away too – I knew they would be talking about it too! It’s nice to know I’m not alone in this.
