The Race is On!

My reality show of choice? The Amazing Race. I’m happy to see it will be on again, starting October 2 at 8pm CST!

I hope they go through Europe more this time – I’m all for exotic locales, but last season was just a bit much. Washing elephants? Come on.

My Idol…

For some reason, I thought the finals were last night so I didn’t watch it, and the Tivo is almost full so I didn’t record it either. So? Who won American Idol? Huh? Huh? Who won???

Third Watch…

Last season was the first season that I really got in to watching “Third Watch”. One of the actresses is married to a NYC firefighter in real life, and so they did a special September 11th episode last year. They postponed the start of the season to film it even. I forgot to set the Tivo though, and they haven’t aired them this summer on NBC – so it was a real treat to discover that they are airing them this weekend on A&E. It’s a 2 part episode, and they are on back-to-back right now. I think they are on again later tonight or else tomorrow night. Tivo is recording them for me right now.

Yesterday they aired 13 hours of “Law & Order” on A&E, and think tomorrow is when they are airing all of the episodes of “24” on one of the other stations. I love it when they do holiday marathons like this!

A Moment of Revelation…

Watching Craig Kilborn and the guy that plays “Aidan” on Sex and the City is on (John Corbett) talking about his new movie, My Big Fat Greek Wedding and I finally figured it out … he was the radio dj on “Northern Exposure”. I knew when he was on SATC that I had seen him on something else, but I couldn’t even figure out what it was. Tonight he looks and sounds more like his Northern Exposure character, although I won’t lie – it was when he said he lives in Seattle that I figured it out. Yeah, I was clueless all along. Stop laughing at me.

While I think he is a very handsome man, I must now question his sanity because he paid $60k at an auction for Elvis’s American Express card. No one is worth that sort of money, in my opinion. No one.

TV Time…

The Houston Texans are playing their first game tonight. The Houston Texans are playing their first game tonight. No, really, the Houston Texans are playing their first game tonight. Yeah, that’s all I’ve heard on the news for the past 24 hours, so I figured you should have to endure it too. All I have to say is that I’m still thankful that we ran Bud Adams out of town. Creepy toupee man.

I wanted to watch “Crossing Jordan” tonight so I could get my fill of Boston scenery, but I discovered that “Meet My Folks” is on instead. Like an accident that you can’t help but look at, I actually left it on. Not entirely sure why, but I’m glad – in that twisted way – that I did. When they watched the video tape where the friend told the parents that the guy had stopped at the state line and had sex – right there under the “you are now entering” sign, pardon the pun – I couldn’t help but laugh. This Dad on this show is just cracking me up. He’s crying because he has to send one of the guys home! That’s classic. Meanwhile, I’m so thankful that I have a son!
