Hackers Suck…

It’s late at night, and my cell phone rings. Except my cell phone is an attachment for my Handspring Visor, so when it rings it just sounds like the alarm is going off – so I ignore it. Then the home phone rings, and it’s PhotoMatt, my knight in shining armor, calling to let me know that my site has been hacked.

Hacked.

Hackers suck. Even more than people that suggest you should just steal blog designs. (Sarah, steal my design and I’ll be at your doorstep ready to go carnival freak crazy on your ass. I’ll claw your eyes out. Probably with a spork.)

Fortunately, for my sites using MT, all that I needed to do was a quick and easy save of my latest post – that rebuilt the index page and all was well again in the world. The lazy hackers didn’t go any deeper than the index.html or index.phpl pages of sites – but they seem to have hit ALL of those pages on one server, making me wonder if it was a virus, worm, or trojan horse of some sort.

So, I’ve got the techno gurus researching what happened, and as soon as I know more I’ll share – but in the meantime, if it has happened to you too, rebuild your index page and you should be fine. If you have other pages you need restored and you host with Blogomania, send in a request to support and we’ll hook you up.

Hackers suck.

Time to Unwind…

For the past several weeks, every weekend has been full of activities. Easter, Jason’s birthday, chess tournaments and graduation parties. This weekend? This weekend was a great chance to unwind! Friday night I crashed early – I needed the sleep after such a long week. Saturday it was housework – all the little things you don’t take the time to bother doing. Stereo wires that were going across my living room are now tucked away where they should be. Mike helped me move my bookcases. Trash moved out, and the stacks of paper are off to be recycled.

Last night we took Jason to see X-Men 2 – it was great! I really enjoyed it, and they did too.

Today we ran a bunch of errands. I found several rolls of film in my cleaning on Saturday, so they are being developed right now. I took my charm bracelet in to James Avery to have charms added to it – time to get them out of the drawer & on my wrist! Then we went and had my oil changed, along with the air filter and the wiper blades. Next, the car wash next door – so the car is all sparkly too! Now it’s time to go pick the pictures up – I can’t wait to see what they are pictures of! Nothing like mystery rolls of film.

I’m watching “That Touch of Mink” right now with Cary Grant and Doris Day. Forget the theme song music that I used to want to have – I want the “soft focus” effect that Doris Day has! Every scene – everything is crisp and in focus, until she comes on to the screen – then she’s all soft and pretty. How does one get this put in place?

Pretty Blue Sky…

For what seems like forever (but is probably just a week or two), Houston has been covered by this icky hazy sky. Smoke from fires in Mexico has had the state covered, and it may even contain pesticides that were banned in the US years ago. What a positive thought. But right now, I’m looking out at white puffy clouds and blue sky! At last! At last! Blue sky. What a great way to finish my week at work.

It’s been a really crazy week. I needed this sunshine moment.

Photoshop Crisis!

Is there any way to edit an action to take out actions you don’t want it to have? I accidentally added stuff to my “Lomo Normal” action, and now when I try to go to the website that offered up the Lomo Actions, I get an error instead of the page. Ugh. I ruined them. I need them. Help! Does anyone have a backup? Can you e-mail it to me? me @ this domain will arrive in my mailbox! Help!

The Amazing Invisible Moon…

I was at work until 9:00 tonight. Getting one attorney ready for a trial while he is trying to prepare a brief at the same time, and another attorney ready for a deposition tomorrow. No time to stop for much of anything.

Driving home, I realized I forgot to call in a prescription I needed refilled. I decided to turn to the south instead of the north and head to the closest Walgreens to pick it up. As I was driving, I noticed that the moon looked … well, strange. I knew there was just a full moon last night, so it was odd that I could only see a small sliver at the top. Interesting. I thought that it looked like an eclipse, but … there must just be clouds blocking the rest of it. I would have to check it out when I got to the store.

I got there, but never got out of the car because the store was already closed. I forgot all about it by the time I got home.

Know what happens when you’re so busy at work that you don’t have time to read the news or watch TV? Yeah… you completely miss the fact that there actually was a full lunar eclipse tonight!
