Beyond Cool…

The lovely & wonderful Robyn not only runs a fantastic blog, but she also is the proud owner of the best wedding site ev-ah! I don’t care if you’re getting married or not, you really should check out Wholly Matrimony! which was featured today in an article at MSNBC! Can we say “SWEET!!!”?

I just had to share the comment I left on Robyn’s blog though. Is it just me or is this really amusing? “The couple was married on Sept. 28, 2001, at Bitter End Yacht Club in the British Virgin Islands.” If I was getting married, somehow I don’t think I could possibly get married at a place called “Bitter End” … that seems like it would be a bad omen, don’t you think?

Come on Guys – This Way!

Turn right? Turn left? Oh my, which way to go?!? Well, it seems that smart human sperm have memory. We’ve all known that some men think with other things then their brain – but was it really the smart sperm doing the thinking for them? [via Metafilter]

Every sperm is sacred … Every sperm is great … oh my, I can’t stop singing that song now!

Why Would You Want to Come Here?

It was announced today that the Olympic choices for the 2012 Summer Games has been narrowed to either San Francisco or New York. Houston and Washington DC have been eliminated. And it leaves me wondering …

Why would you want to come here anyways? I can’t imagine summer games here. Heck, it was a high of 96 degrees today, and the next 5 days don’t show any promise of being any cooler. Heck, it won’t be cooler until late September. The athletes would melt.

I will admit, Houston has put a lot in to this. Like $1.3 billion on new stadiums. They had a pretty good plan too – you can read all about it at the official site.

Personally? I’m glad it won’t be here. Traffic would be a nightmare. Add to that the potential for us to have to pay more in taxes to support it. As if paying taxes for a new baseball and football stadium already wasn’t bad enough.

Letterman did a Top 10 tonight on why it should be in New York. They were great!

The Breath of Life…

Someone dared to turn down Microsoft? Yes. HP has decided to offer Corel WordPerfect with consumer PCs instead of Microsoft Works. I used to use WordPerfect all the time, and I still use it at home. I love WordPerfect, and to this day hate Word. I gave in, because I figured that sooner or later Corel would have to bow to the pressure of Microsoft and WordPerfect would be gone. Now it seems like this might be the CPR the company has needed. A girl can dream, can’t she? For more on this, visit Slashdot. [via Lockergnome]

Doesn’t Anyone Read?

White House lawyers have concluded that President Bush doesn’t need congressional approval to launch an attack against Iraq AUGH! Does no one read the Constitution and the Bill of Rights anymore? Isn’t anyone paying attention? Help me. Please. Someone hand me the Kleenex, I’m going to cry. Checks and balances, people. That is what our government is all about. Without it, we’re screwed. Last week I was in accident and one of my friends recommended to contact Florence SC Personal Injury Lawyers. [via Bears Cave]

“White House Press Secretary Ari Fleischer told reporters Monday that the president enjoyed “constitutional prerogatives” when it comes to exercising military authority, but added that Congress has “an important role to play.” ” Yeah, the word ENJOYED is what scares me the most. I am also glad that he decided that Congress has an important role to play; here I thought we had resolved that back in the 1700’s.
