I Have a Confession…

It all started when I went to Emily’s house one night to watch the end of Sex and the City. Before we could start the show, she had to watch the end of the latest episode of America’s Next Top Model. A week or two later, I watched another episode with her. That was it. I was hooked.

I am addicted to America’s Next Top Model. It is my guilty pleasure, and it’s all Emily’s fault.

After Season 2 finished, I was thrilled to see that they were going to air Season 1 again over the summer. I watched every episode. But I have to watch them a certain way. I have to save the episode from the week before so I can watch it again before I watch the current episode. It’s like I have to get pumped up for the show. I need that little recap. (I do the same thing with The Amazing Race, so I guess it’s my thing with reality shows.)

Season 3 started last week – while Emily was out of the country. I recorded it, but I saved watching it for her return. Wednesday night I went over to her house in my housepants and a comfy t-shirt just to watch the first and second episode of the show. I had requested her infamous homemade popcorn, but there was a very, very special treat waiting for me. KW knows of my love for the au gratin pototaes at Vic & Anthony’s – so he made a batch of potatoes for me for a birthday treat! Some people get cake for their birthday, I get potatoes. So wonderful! And Emily had a claddaugh charm for me that she brought from Ireland for my birthday present, and I love it! I even did a happy dance!

Unfortunately, her Tivo recorded “Lost” last night instead of the second episode of ANTM, so now she’ll have to come to my place to catch up. Only right, since my guilty pleasure is all her fault. The show and the 800 thread count sheets – what next?

Coming up next week on America’s Next Top Model? They chop off all of their hair. It’s time for the model makeover, so be sure to tune in to enjoy the tear fest that normally follows!

DOH! I Still Can’t Believe It!

Mike and I just watched last week’s episode of the Apprentice (episode 2, the Ciao Bella Ice Cream Task) and … DUDE. I still can’t believe what happened in the boardroom. I’m bitter and angry at Trump right now. Although some edge of my bitter anger has been taken off by reading Sam’s commentary on the episode. Sam, the wild and crazy man from Season 1 is back, and his commentary helped take some of the edge off of it.

I still have a bitter taste in my mouth. Donald, I’m mad at you.

Bloggers, Unite!

Watching the Late Late Show with Drew Carey as the guest host, and he’s now interviewing Zach Braff – and they started to discuss Zach’s blog! He said that he writes all of his own posts, and it was hysterical to hear him and Drew describe a weblog. Then Zach said that he actually reads all the comments himself – sitting up late at night with a cup of coffee and refreshing the screen to see the comments coming in.

Funny, I bet the rest of us do the same thing when it comes to our own blogs. Nice to know he’s just like the rest of us.

Day By Day…

I noticed that there was a free 2 week trial available for Netflix, so we decided to give it a try. Really, how could I resist once I discovered they had Godspell available?

Last Friday, we received The Butterfly Effect. Saturday, we received Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen, which some might say is my life story. No, not really – but it was a cute chick flick and fun to watch. Yesterday, Godspell finally arrived in the mail. (It was first in my queue, but being an older movie, I’m sure it had to come from some vault far, far away.)

Movies directly to you – how cool is that? However, it’s pretty expensive – I don’t think we’ll keep it past the trial period. It was just a nice way to finally get to see Godspell! (I checked every video store in Houston, with no luck.)

Good music, good stories, and Victor Garber as Jesus with a giant afro hairstyle. Could you ask for more?

Day by day… Day by day… Day by day by day by day by daaaaaayyyyy…

Guilty Pleasure … Well, Sort Of…

Guess what I’m watching?!? Jesus Christ Superstar! I would call it a guilty pleasure, but it just seems wrong to call a movie about Jesus a guilty pleasure.

What’s the buzz … tell me whatsa happenin’…

Yeah, I’m going to sing along with every song that I know. And maybe by the end I’ll know a few more… Now I just need a copy of Godspell! Day by Day… Day by Day…

UPDATE: Mike made an emergency Godspell run up to Blockbuster for me, but no luck. *sigh* No DVDs or videos of it. I wonder where I can find a copy.
